"I'm not photogenic". If I had a euro for every time I heard that... Find out why a session with a professional photographer has nothing to do with a selfie, and how we're finally going to make peace with your image.
Spoiler: smartphones distort perspective. It's pure physics! My job as a photographer is to use specific lenses that respect the real proportions of your face. Framing is thought out to the millimetre, the background is blurred with elegance (the famous "bokeh" that looks so professional), so the eye lands on you immediately, without spotting the yellow bin in the background.
Bad lighting, like a bathroom ceiling light, can add 10 years to your face in an instant. Mastering light, on the other hand, means being able to enhance skin tone and add a spark to the eyes. Whether I'm working with natural light or my mobile studio lighting, I create a tailor-made atmosphere for each face. It's this precision work that produces timeless portraits, often enhanced by deep, elegant black and white.
Already telling yourself you're "not photogenic"? If that were really true, I'd have been out of a job long ago. My real job starts here: taking apart that anxiety. A portrait session is, above all, a human exchange. We take our time, we chat, I pull out my best (or worst) jokes to make you forget the camera. No strict instructions like "lift your chin 2 millimetres". I wait for the shell to crack. When natural comes back, that's when I press the shutter.
