Jean-Emmanuel Perchet

Behind the lens

My name is Jean-Emmanuel Perchet. Professional photographer since 2018, based in Soucy, in the Yonne department.

My journey hasn't been a straight line, and that's probably what nourishes my perspective today. After studying visual arts, I took the time to wander across Europe. Before fully committing to photography, I also worked several years in sales. This isn't just a CV detail: this experience forged my human touch and developed that very social side that characterizes me. It's exactly what allows me to break the ice quickly, put you at ease (even if you hate the camera!), and bring out the best in you.

A journey between two cultures

During my years of travel, I settled in Andalusia, where I lived for quite a few years. This period left a deep mark on me: the human warmth, the intensity of celebrations, that way of living big moments to the fullest with all one's heart. It was under the Andalusian sun that I discovered the world of weddings and shot my very first reportage.

Today, bilingual in French and Spanish, it's a real joy to accompany Spanish-speaking couples and families. Sharing their language and knowing their culture from the inside instantly breaks down barriers. And it shows in the images.

Photographer, not a director

My approach is that of a photographer-reporter. I will never ask you to "act natural" or freeze a fake smile, because it simply doesn't work. I prefer to blend into the background, observe, anticipate. It's when you've forgotten me that the real images are born: a knowing glance, a burst of laughter, a fleeting emotion that can't be commanded.

Visually, my heart beats for black and white in a Fine Art style. This isn't a trend, it's a conviction. When you remove colour, you go straight to the essentials: light, raw emotion, timeless elegance.

In a few markers

2018. I start my business to devote myself 100% to photography.

My core business. Wedding reportage. I always cover the entire day, from preparations to the dancefloor, to tell your real story, without half-measures.

But also. Portraits (family, corporate, personal branding) and "Business & Gesture" reportage to enhance the know-how of companies and artisans.

Today. Based in Soucy in Yonne, I work throughout France and internationally when the project demands it.

What my clients say

"We forgot he was there all day."

"He puts even the most reluctant people at ease in front of the camera."

"Such a reassuring presence, he guided us with kindness."

"Natural, unposed photos with a real soul."

These testimonials mean more to me than any award. Drawing on my experience, I ensure your day runs smoothly with kindness, to reassure you and take the pressure off. You have only one thing to do: enjoy.

A beautiful image starts with a beautiful encounter

That's why I systematically offer an initial meeting to get to know each other and validate our connection. Do you have a project? Let's have a coffee and talk about it.

My photography gear: the tools of my creativity

Nothing beats the eye and experience. However, high-end equipment helps overcome many photographic pitfalls and brings real peace of mind in the most difficult conditions. Thanks to powerful cameras and lenses, I can capture sharp and precise images, even in complex or poorly lit situations. This allows me to focus on what matters: capturing the moment.
